Dalia Villa De La Cruz
Program Manager
Having graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Political Science and Chicano/a/x Studies. This academic background has provided me with a fresh perspective that enriches our work here.
My journey has been diverse, starting with volunteer work at Mid-City CAN, a non-profit organization, where I contributed to self-advocacy, and community empowerment initiatives. This experience paved the way for a transition into a full-time role, equipping me with essential skills for my chosen career path.
Driven by a passion for community organizing, aiding those in need, and fostering positive change, I have embarked on various professional endeavors. From roles at Rady Children’s Hospital and a San Diego chain restaurant to my most recent position at a small family business in Poway, each opportunity has been instrumental in shaping my journey. The culmination of these experiences has led me to my current role at Self Determined Futures LLC. Our mission to offer unparalleled support and address the disparities faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities resonates deeply with me. Working alongside our dedicated staff and empowering those we serve has been immensely fulfilling.
Beyond my professional life, I find joy in exploring local coffee shops and embracing the outdoors through activities like hiking, running, and beach outings.
